This AWD is on the more capable side. I would rate this vehicle considerably more capable than something like a Subaru because it is has better gearing (20.4:1 crawl ratio) and a more advanced AWD system with a twin clutch rear differential that acts as a high biased LSD. It's obviously less capable than a modern 4WD with a traction control system. I previously drove a 2008 FJ cruiser TRD (it was just a badge back then). I consider midsized Hondas (Pilot, Ridgeline, Passport) to be one of the best examples of a good balance of on-road and off-road.
