Res came home May 2020 in the midst of the crazy COVID pandemic and gave me and my family an outlet to get outdoors while everyone else stayed home. One week later we added my wife’s Gladiator to the garage. In a year and a half she already bears 62k miles of mostly trail dirt from Colorado to California. To say I’m addicted to seat time is an understatement. I will jump on any chance to throw my Jeep into 4H, but absolutely prefer 4L as rock crawling fills my soul and I am becoming quite fearless in. I am a huge advocate and preacher of maintaining our trails so they are here for our grandchildren’s grandchildren so live and breath by Tread Lightly and support Stay The Trail and C.O.R.V.A. If we cross paths out there, say hi!

SV2675 - The Joe Perry Project (03/04/2023)
What a freaking trail! This is by far one of those trails you could run over and over again and never take the same line twice. If you are afraid of body damage, this is not where you want to find yourself! Ran it on a perfect bluebird day with Perry and a few of the Local Jeeps group and couldn’t have asked for a better run. Everything moves, the ground is soft, and the rocks are big! So the trail from the lead to the rear will be completely different we shifted and changed it multiple times between five rigs, so be ready for constantly shifting boulders and picking a good line. Volkswagen rock got me, finally had to get winched over an obstacle and was grinning ear to ear the whole day. If you want fun, this is your trail!
Johnny Park Road (12/07/2022)
Went up on Sunday and the gate was closed at the trailhead.
Slaughterhouse Road (aka Slaughterhouse Gulch) (11/26/2022)
This trail was a blast! From beautiful views to deep mud (now ice) holes and super rutted and rocky steep inclines - it has it all! Built jeep had no issue even on the harder lines, but did throw a decent wave on the big hill after the mud holes (left turn at big open space), so make sure to walk and know your line. Several equally steep but not as deeply rutted hills after that so newer drivers would benefit from going with a more experienced driver or at least having a copilot that knows how to spot. There was a little snow and ice throughout but is completely manageable without any slipping or sliding. Already thinking of heading back out in the next few days since I enjoyed it so much! I would rate it at a high 3 but if the snow and ice was much deeper I could see it becoming a high 4/low 5.
