Growing up in the Midwest, 4x4's were few and far between in our family. My first experience in a Jeep was on a tank trail around 1984 on Fort Campbell, KY/TN. My uncle initiated all of us to slinging mud and rocks to get out of a jam. Fast forward to adulthood. We have owned all kinds of vehicles including a 1995 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) which made me a believer in real 4x4 ability. In 2016, after driving my step-father's 1999 Jeep Wrangler (TJ), I got bitten by the bug pretty hard. I bought our first Jeep, a 1997 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) and worked on it for about 6 months to straighten out things that the prior owner(s) had fouled up. In January of 2017 we stepped up to a 2017 Jeep Wrangler (JK) Unlimited Rubicon. This is my daily driver and our current go-to for off-road adventures. During the Summer of 2017, we made our maiden voyage to the San Juan's of Colorado. The rest is history and we are hooked on trail running. During our trip to Colorado, we met contributors to this site and they were so welcoming to us that we aspire to mimic their behaviors and reach out to others in a similar fashion! There is a world to see, out there. Turn off the TV, get off the couch and go!
