A retired naval submariner, been married for over 39 years, father, grandfather, ex Yellowstone Ranger, outdoor enthusiast. Have owned a Jeep since 2000, first was. TJ Sport, upgraded to a 08 Rubicon Unlimited, now a 18 JLU Rubicon. We were roof top tenters but now drag a Turtleback Expedition behind us for all our adventures. We have explored most of Northern Arizona, southern Utah, and parts of New Mexico. Successfully completed a three day White Rim Trail adventure in October 2020.

We went in the pouring rain without issue. Gaia has a slightly different way entering the trail from the north, we used the GPX feed from this app to navigate our way up the mesa. I did not air down due to the rain.....yes, I will melt in the rain ;). Did not really need 4WD although engaged due to how wet ground became the higher we climbed. The only section you will need to either air down or use 4WD will be at the beginning, there are a few "gate keepers" that will give you a little challenge, but nothing major at all. Once past those, it's pretty much a dirt road that climbs up to the mesa and the views were pretty interesting for us, even in the rain. Agree with the pin striping comment, especially at the beginning of the road.
