My Trail Reviews (75)
(within last 6 months) The southern end of the road is open as of today! The trail is open from Garden of the Gods to the seasonal gale at waypoint 20. The trail remains closed just north of Mount Herman Road and will for another month or two as the mud closure remains in effect.
Trail is under a seasonal closure, see you in the summer!

This is always a beautiful drive in the winter. We didn't encounter any big snow or drifts to blast through. The trail is a good spot to hit at this time of year but come prepared!!
We were out enjoying the snow and the relative ease of these trails. The section from Deckers to Wellington Lake Road was mostly clear of snow and ice, just a little muddy. No changes to report and a reminder that the western side of the trail is not plowed and can get pretty deep in the Feb/Mar time frames.
Trail is not seasonal but open only accessible from Monument and Woodland Park trails that connect.
Closed for the year, see you next season!

What a great trail! This trail isn't terribly difficult and was even recently graded in most places when I was there. The start has scenic views in all directions and the end has a great place to walk up to the top and view the Colorado River. I highly recommend this one for those looking to get away from the crowds of Moab, or as a camping location and launch point.
I was checking on this trail and some others in the area. Little rougher, but no real changes to this trail writeup!
I was out in Moab and had a little time left in the day so went out to Tusher Tunnel for some Golden Hour action and to take some pictures. Always a great little trail with a fun tunnel to run through at the end of the trail.
This trail travels above the timberline and is considered impassable due to snow until spring. See you next season!

As of 2022 the section in the attached picture near the Lizard Rock area is closed to the public. What remains of the start of this trail (waypoints 1-4 pictured) is now
Old Forest Service 231.
These trails are at high altitude and have gotten snow this season as of this notice. Travel on these trails is now considered dangerous and they will announce official seasonal closures of these trails soon.

Trail is staying open a little later this season. Enjoy while you can!

I was out on Cedar today and taking new pictures for waypoints. Just more places it's washed-out or has more exposed rocks. The new pictures and a slightly updated gpx will be updated on the site in the next week or so.
Ran this back to Trail Creek. No major changes to report but the views were great today.
Seasonal Closure is in effect, the trail opens again next season!

I went out today to check on this trail after the previous reports and sure enough this trail is going to get bumped to a 4/5 and will be updated on the site in the next few days.
I was out checking trails in the area. Some more exposed rock than previous years but no real change to the difficulty of the trail at this time.
Visited to check on this trail and the weather has really washed it parts of the trail and exposed more rock. I will be adding a new waypoint and adjusting another. The rocks near waypoint 3 have devolved into a hard rock climb with a bypass.
The trail has gotten a little rougher on the low end between waypoints 2 and 4. I will be adjusting the ratings accordingly.
Looks like the fall colors are just about done for the season. Snow is next!
I was out to update the trail today. The high end of this trail will get a single digit increase on the high end. Moab Hill has gotten more dug out. The mud hole is also VERY deep now. If I had to guess, the Forest Service will close that soon and just let the bypass be the new trail.
Ran this in reverse today, no major changes to note but the rock climb is more dug out and difficult. It's well on its way to being another mini Moab.
Visited while updating trails in the area. This one will get a slight bump in the ratings for the washouts and rocks in the road now.
Visited to check on the trails in this area and no major changes to report. The fall colors are pretty much done
Checking on trails in the area. Logging operations seem to have smoothed out the road a lot, this trails rating will get lowered to match.
Fall colors are pretty much done this year.
Ran this while patrolling trails for updates. This year's rain has really exposed a lot of rocks.
